Corazza Group: a female-oriented company

22/12/2011

Despite a lot of talk about social equity, equal rights of men and women these issues remain a lot of talk and there is a trend to forget that women’s position today in Italy is probably and paradoxically even more instable than men’s.

This means we are really experiencing a crisis, but also that women experience it even to a higher degree.

It is important to realise that someone is doing something to change this situation, it is important to realise that someone put their money where their mouth was by hiring more women than men, helping who is more troubled and reaching extraordinary targets as to quality and corporate image.

An excerpt of the interview to Violetta Corazza, published on the Carlino di Bologna, as a “deus ex machina” of Corazza Group, a Bolognese company manufacturing corrective and orthopaedic insoles is reported here below.

“DO female-oriented companies EXIST, meaning companies that are female-tailored, managed by women and where employees with important positions are women? Should any of those exist, Corazza in Molinella, specialised in orthopaedic insoles, best represents them all. Violetta Corazza is the managing director of this company with 24 employees, 90% of whom are women. The management and the employees agreed upon production time schedules ranging from 7.00 am to 3.30 pm. This choice allows sparing time (at 7.00 am traffic is light) and some time can be devoted in the afternoon to children and family. The present economical situation does not lead to smile and Corazza offers a job and a wage to the other half of the sky.”

The original article including the whole interview is also available, yet our commitment was to show that putting words into practise is possible, but also desirable and often favourable.
