Latex and new materials

17/10/2011

Resuming our chat with Violetta Corazza, she tells about his father Dino’s intuitions on ortheses.
“However, this innovation did not die, as these insoles were proposed with of new materials during the years as technological innovation grew and developed - thermoformable insoles and latex insoles, joined the traditional leather and cork items in the catalogue.
We were in the 80’s and latex specially showed up as a very interesting material with applications in the orthopaedic sector thanks to its softness and flexibility. Once again my father realised the importance of this turning point and decided to develop insoles with the new material and manufacture in-house directly the required latex. Purchasing the formula was expensive but required to reach the best performance from this material”.
“The latex we manufacture today”, says Violetta Corazza, “features unique softness and flexibility and is non-allergenic, so much so that it is used in vascular surgery on patients undergoing saphenectomy tanks to its performance. Some studies confirm that applying pressure pads made with our latex helps healing over and cicatrizing.
By using our latex orthopaedicists shall realise its top quality as – unlike other kinds of latex in the market – it will not fear any lapping action nor flake when the insoles is modified.
Also patients may enjoy its unique features when wearing it: namely its elasticity, a sort of “memory” enabling it to return to the original thickness as soon as the pressure is released.”
Corazza offers an ever wider product catalogue including half-processed cork, leather, latex and
thermoformable insoles.
